Richard Baker is a graduate of Pratt Institute School of Architecture and is an artist, photographer, building designer and draftsman. He has worked with distinguished contemporary artists including David Ireland, Frank Stella, Tom Marioni and Richard Meier. He was trained
as a photographer at University of California, Santa Cruz with Norman Locks. He is responsible for the design of the space and with curating contemporary photography exhibits. Richards family, with 6 generations of Nevada City natives, is as connected to the California Foothills as Julie Bakers is to New York. Their shared creative resources will give
the gallery its distinction. Julie and Richard share a restored Nevada City Victorian with their sons Miles, Theo, and Trey and their dogs Jasper and Lulu.
