"Memories in a Trunk," a show of rare images of counterculture poets, performers and events that helped shape the 1960s by photographer Dale Smith, opens with a reception from 6 to 8 tonight at Julie Baker Fine Art (307 Spring St. Suite B) in Nevada City. In 1965, Smith photographed Bob Dylan, Allen Ginsberg and Michael McClure in the alley behind City Lights Bookstore San Francisco, creating photos that eventually were published in Dylan's "Biograph" album. Many of Smith's never-seen photos of Ginsberg, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Philip Whalen and others will be up through March 12. (530) 265-9278, www.juliebakerfineart.com.
