Julie Baker Fine Art is presenting the second solo show of renowned Santa Fe artist, Alexandra Eldridge. Eldridge creates soulful, symbolically rich paintings that have been critically praised and highly sought by avid collectors. From dreams to travels to relationships, Eldridge delves deeply into the personal with the intention of communicating what is universal.

Themes in "Grant Me Beauty" touch upon the movement through life's obstacles and finding resolve and peace on the other side. Her imagery speaks of being caught by the unexpected beauty in everyday objects and how we carry within us the potential to see things anew. Nothing is static, symbols are in flux, and paradoxes abound. A combination of Venetian plaster mixed with pigment, incised with various implements, scripted and collaged, Eldridge's works are highly textural and imbued with the emotion and spirit with which they were created

"Alexandra Eldridge carries on a conversation with the eternal and essential through art. Her paintings oscillate between the visible and invisible worlds, suggesting a place on the periphery of knowledge - a poetic place; imagined and intuited but rarely seen." - Kathleen McCloud, Santa Fe art critic/artist.

Born in New Jersey, Alexandra currently resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In addition to Julie Baker Fine Art, Eldridge exhibits with Turner Carroll Gallery in Santa Fe and Weber Fine Art in New York.
